Directors Lab West

Hosted by the Pasadena Playhouse and the Boston Court Performing Arts Complex and funded by the Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF), Directors Lab West is modeled after the Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab in New York City. Like its NY counterpart, the Lab is a series of discussions, working sessions, panels and symposia with some of the nation's and region's leading directors, playwrights, designers and other theatre practitioners. The Lab also creates an opportunity for Directors to become aware of and build a community with-in the Theatre Community. The goal is to create an intensive laboratory environment where directors of different sensibilities and levels of experience can come together to inspire, educate and challenge each other. This Lab is not open to the public. Attendance is by application and special invitation only. Directors Lab West seeks a group of emerging directors who will participate as intensively as their time permits as audience members, observers and discussion participants. No cost will be charged to participants of the Lab; however, for out of town attendees, housing and transportation are at their own expense. Please see the Apply/Contact Us Page for an application or to get in touch and please refer to our  Frequently Asked Questions page for any questions you may have about us or the lab.
